Intimate In-Home Maternity Session – Petoskey MI

I just want to start by saying, babies babies babies. They are everywhere I look! I feel so incredibly grateful and honored to have been asked to capture so many first time mamas this year. It just absolutely melts my heart. Now let’s talk about this incredible in-home maternity session I got to do with two of my oldest clients!

Brooke and Eric have been getting “family” photos with me for a while, the “family” up to this point being them and their two big doggos. Now they are adding a human baby to the mix!

I was overjoyed when Brooke reached out about doing in-home maternity session photos with a lifestyle vibe. We did the shoot in their brand new Petoskey home as they started the nesting process.

Unlike traditional studio sessions, this style of photography captures the raw beauty of everyday moments within the comfort of the couple’s own home or a meaningful outdoor location.

Lifestyle in-home maternity sessions are a chance for expectant moms and dads to mentally and emotionally prepare for their baby’s arrival. This happens through quiet, intentional moments in the nursery, and around other areas in the home. As they pose in the nursery they’ve lovingly decorated, they’re not only capturing beautiful images but also strengthening their bond and building anticipation for the new chapter ahead. The session becomes a reflective moment, allowing them to pause, connect, and envision the life they’re creating as a family. These captured memories serve as a source of joy and comfort during the later stages of pregnancy and beyond, reminding them of the love and excitement that surrounded their journey to parenthood.
