When I say documenting every milestone, I mean photograph them. We all think, “I want to remember this moment” and try to commit it to our long term memory. I’m here to tell you, take a photo or a video. Write it down at the very least. You’ll be so happy you did years down the road when you find that memory you saved on purpose.
Documenting milestones as children age is of utmost importance as it preserves the memories and allows us to cherish the growth and development of our loved ones. From their first steps to their first day of school, every milestone is a precious moment that deserves to be captured and celebrated. Photographs serve as tangible reminders of these significant moments. They enable us to revisit them and relive the emotions associated with each stage of childhood. They become a visual timeline of a child’s journey, capturing their unique personality, innocence, and growth over time. Additionally, these photographs provide a meaningful way to share and connect with family and friends, fostering a sense of belonging and shared experiences. When we document milestones through photography sessions, we create a timeless legacy that can be passed down through generations, leaving a lasting impact on the story of our family.
This mama gets it. She has continued to reach out for updated family photos every milestone for sweet little Henry. This year, I had the pleasure of photographing him for his second birthday. Henry loves John Deere, tractors, trucks, you name it. He LOVES wearing his hat, and in fact.. wouldn’t really take it off during his session. That’s standard two year old behavior, so we rolled with it. Check out this cutie pie in his green themed second birthday.
